Energy Bill Update/Save the Nuclear Plants
As you may have heard, late yesterday evening Governor Pritzker came out with a press release stating that he was prepared to veto the Senate version of the energy bill. He stated that the bill did not provide firm closure dates for coal and natural gas plants, which the environmentalists have demanded. He also stated that the bill was being rushed.
As a result, the legislative leaders and the Governor's office are continuing discussions/negotiations today. The Senate Energy & Public Utilities Committee is holding subject matter hearing at 10:30 a.m. today on HB3666 SA001. Please follow the directions below to submit a witness slip to support the passage of an energy bill.
The Senate is scheduled to convene at noon today. Your support is appreciated.
