The Seneca Grade School District Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ryan Hansen as the new Superintendent of Seneca Grade School, effective July 1, 2025. Dr. Hansen succeeds Superintendent Mr. Eric Misener, who retired after 21 years of dedicated service to the district.
Dr. Hansen was selected following a comprehensive search process in which the Board of Education carefully reviewed many highly qualified candidates. The Board is confident that Dr. Hansen brings the leadership, vision, and innovation necessary to guide the district into its next chapter of growth and success.
A native of Morris, Illinois, Dr. Hansen has a distinguished career in education, having served as a teacher, principal, and superintendent. Most recently, he led Flanagan-Cornell Unit District 74 as Superintendent, where he was recognized for his commitment to collaboration, academic excellence, and community partnerships. Dr. Hansen and his wife, Leah, are the proud parents of four children Elsie, Andrew, Maggie, and Lydia.
“I am excited about the opportunity to collaborate with the Board, faculty, and staff to support the success of Seneca Grade School’s students and enrich the broader community,” said Dr. Hansen.
