Seneca Lions Club announces winners of Peace Poster Contest

Each year, Lions clubs around the world proudly sponsor the Lions International Peace Poster Contest in local schools and youth groups. This contest encourages young people worldwide to artistically express their visions of peace. The theme of the 2009-2010 Peace Poster Contest is "The Power of Peace." Our 6th graders participate as part of the Art program, and 10 finalists are chosen to be submitted to the local Lions club chapter.


This year’s finalists were:
1. Emily Bowen
2. Jessica Ellis
3. Zach Rivett
4. Selena Echiverria
5. Claudia Paulson
6. Ross McCormick
7. Kyle Sigmon
8. Becca Towne
9. Jennifer Elliott
10. JJ Nelson

The winners were decided at the October Lions club meeting and they were:
1st Place: Ross McCormick
2nd Place: Kyle Sigmon
3rd Place: Selena Echiverria

Ross's picture will proceed to the district level to compete with other area schools.
The winner of the district level will proceed on to a regional level and then on to the international level.
