Back to the Future!

Story image 1_0

No, this post has nothing to do with Michael J. Fox or DeLorean time machines.  Great movie, but there are more important things to talk about this time of year.  The caption is simply referencing what is happening at the South Campus this week, and that is getting back to teaching our future leaders.  Summer break is certainly a well-earned, and needed, hiatus each and every year.  However, come August, myself, the staff and even the kids (whether they will admit it or not) are ready to get back to the business of starting a new school year.  Last Friday, we did just that by welcoming all of our students back into the hallways and classrooms of the South Campus.  It was great to see familiar faces walking into the commons that morning, as well as many new ones.   Some were excited to move into the next grade, some were a little nervous …. many were a little bit of both.   Now that we have a few days under our belts, the nervousness has dissipated and students are truly getting back into the routine of school and settling in nicely.  We’ve had a very positive start to our year, and I look forward to working with you, and our staff, to continue that trend.  I hope everyone had a great summer, and I look forward to seeing all of you at some point in the near future, if I haven’t already.  If you have any concerns or questions about your child’s education, please feel free to contact me via phone (357-8744 ext. 3100) or email (sseverson@sgs170.org)
