Dear Parents,

Well, this will be my final newsletter. I can’t believe the year has come to an end. It has been a great year and I have enjoyed teaching your child.

This week we have been busy getting report card testing done. The children have learned special blend sounds such as ch and th. We have work on writing in our journals. We reviewed math skills such as addition and subtraction. We worked on projects for our memory books.

On Monday, we went to the big gym for a beginner’s band and chorus concert. The children were very well behaved.

Thursday, we had a great hot dog lunch outside. We had our field day in the afternoon. The weather cooperated and the children really enjoyed themselves. Ask your child what fun things they were able to do. Thank you for sending the cookies for this event.

Next week, we will have our spelling test on Monday. Please have your child practice the words over the weekend. This will be great practice for first grade.

Read Alouds will be due on Monday, May 24th.

We will be doing fun activities next week to finish up the year.

Wednesday, will be our last full day of school. Your child’s memory book will be coming home this day. I hope you enjoy this special book.

There will be no school on Thursday, May 27th for teacher institute.

On Friday, May 28^th your child will pick up his or her report card in the main lobby. Just a reminder, there will be no bus service that day.

I will also be sending home a summer folder for your child to work on during those rainy days. It is full of fun activities to help reinforce skills learned in kindergarten.

Don’t forget to check out the summer reading program at the library. It’s a fun way to keep your child reading over the summer.

Once again, thank you for a great year. I appreciate all your support throughout the year. I have truly enjoyed seeing your child bloom!
