minimal. He is also very pleased with the
low numbers of students on the ASAP list.
He also reviewed several of the activities the 5th grade
students and faculty did while on their field trip to Sci-Tech Museum. Hands on demonstration really kept the
students engaged and having fun at the same time. In October, the 8th grade students
will attended the GVAC Trade Fair, another wonderful opportunity for students
to gather information on career choices.
Principal Severson congratulated the 7th and 8th
grade boy’s baseball on both having very successful seasons. September 30th, will be a ½ day of
school for students and teachers will meet in the afternoon for school
improvement day.
Principal
McGhee reported all students were screened in Math and Reading with
the AIMSweb assessment probes. Data from
this has been used to form RtI groups in math and reading. Principal McGhee thanked the Seneca Police
department for their participation in our building lockdown drill held on
Monday September 21st. The
Character Counts behavior program was kicked off with the 9/11 Day of Service
and Remembrance Program. The students
are continuing to work on earning “Pirate Praise” slips for demonstrating good
behavior. Second grade students went on a field trip to Shabbona Park by
Earlville. LaSalle County Soil and Water
Conservation District sponsored the event.
Students had participated in several activities at different stations
for hands on experience with conservation.
The Breakfast program has been a welcomed addition to North Campus. There are about 40 students participating
each day. The Raider Reader Program will be continuing this year. Thank you to our local businesses supporting
