BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING
The Board of Education met at 6:45 p.m. at a public
hearing to discuss the transfer of $450,000.00 from the transportation fund to
the operations maintenance building fund.
President Bedeker called for
roll call.
Present: Baker, Barla, Quigley, Roseland, Sangston,
Thompson and Bedeker.
Absent: None

board of Education met for their regular scheduled meeting at 7:00 p.m. on June
16th, 2010 at the Seneca Grade School North Campus Board Room.

Hearing of Citizens:
Ted Bartelmey, partitioned the board to consider review of policy to
allow homeschooled student to participate in extra curricular activities.
Hearing of Teachers:
Patty Wagner, 6th grade teacher, is taking a writing workshop
this summer and is getting ready to take on the new challenge of using Kindles
in her classroom. Julie Hamilton, 6th
grade teacher, is busy with family and rejuvenating after the long school year.

moved to accept the Treasurer’s Report and investments as given by secretary: Education $412,156.10; Building $66,379.02,
Transportation $22,110.70, IMRF $17,577.56; LEASE $67,885.60, Tort $1,128.45,
Total $587,237.43; seconded by Baker.

Supt. Misener reviewed the tentative summary of ISAT
test scores with the Board.
Thompson moved to change the regular scheduled
meeting in July from the 21st to Tuesday, July 20th; seconded by
Barla.

Principal McGhee reported on summer school, jump
start classes starting July 19th.
Roughly 40 students will be participating in classes for 3 weeks, Monday
thru Thursday for three hours per day.
Last week Seneca Grade School hosted the Camp Invention which over 40
students from the area participated in.
Principal McGhee and Mrs. Willand also recently attended a workshop on
bullying and will share new ideas with staff.
She also reviewed the math and reading performance summaries for both AIMSweb and the Star testing programs. Overall she is very pleased with student’s
progress and will target areas that need growth.
Barla moved to go into Executive Session at 7:30
p.m. for personnel and legal; seconded by Thompson.

.10 cents on top of the normal step level increases for non-certified hourly
