Principal McGhee reported the results of the second round of RTI testing.  Teams reviewed the results and 19 students responded well to intervention and were dismissed from the program.  Principal McGhee was very pleased with this and will continue to improve the process on monitoring students in RTI.  She will be purchasing additional assessment material that will go along with the creative curriculum that is in place at the preschool level.  She thanked CF Industries for approving $1,850.00 in classroom mini-grants.  Moneys will be used on field trips and activities that help students explore and develop hands-on activities related to agriculture.

Principal Severson also reviewed the results of the second round of RTI testing.  He was very pleased with the results.  He is looking for a 40% dismissal rate hopefully by the end of the year.  Reading teacher, Ms Bronson, Mrs. Warning and Mrs. Shanks have all worked hard to implement a successful program including a creative reading series.  Principal Severson announced the finalist for the “You Be the Chemist.  Students competing in February will be 8th graders Chad Davis, Jonah Lamboley and Nick Kirkton and for 7th grade Evan Fleck and Daniel Niswonger. He also presented the board with last years’ discipline report and compared numbers with these years’ trends.  There has been very little change in number of referrals written.
